It's the first one, but you have to read between the lines.

Afraid of black people (with guns)

Just a quick note* on the use of terms above. In contemporary usage, while "homosexuals" and "bisexuals" is considered broadly neutral and acceptable, "transgenders" carries a negative connotation for many trans, non-binary, and gender non-conforming people. Though some people (including folks who identify as such) use the term, it's much more common and accepted to use the term "transgender people" (or in this case, transgender adults, since kids are separately listed).

No hate aimed at Mike McFreely intended - it's entirely possible that Mike doesn't know (m)any trans, non-binary, and gender non-conforming people, and this is a nuance that can be hard to pick up through casual investigation.

* I recognize that the use of terms that described politicized populations is always in flux, so my comments here only represent what I've observed in today's context, not what was common five or ten years ago, etc.

This is almost exactly the condition FDR was talking about in what is one of his most memorable speeches.

No wonder they want assault rifles. It helps them feel less afraid.
