As did I. With 400+ arrests and indictments, it's a bit hard to keep up.

You sure?

The only news item I can find about him is being released from jail at the end of April pending trial.

He's out of jail on pre-trial release. Indicted by a federal grand jury on 7 or 8 charges so yeah if found guilty he could get 7 years. But no trial date set that I've heard of.

His defense is basically "I'm a stupid a'hole with bad judgment so nobody should take anything I do seriously. "

No really that's what his attorney presented. It could work.

Well, he’s got that right. He is a stupid a’hole. But stupid a’holes go to prison every day for things that stupid a’holes do, and properly so.

He's white, so he's got that going for him, which is nice.

So he hasn't been sentenced to seven years?

I really want to see him and Spear Man behind bars, not to mention another ~398 people, but that won't happen.

To be clear.

7 years for each of "7 or 8" charges isn't enough.
Life without parole, at a minimum.

Interesting tidbit from that:

Quote

There is no evidence to support the "plea deal" claim as mentioned in the tweet above. However, four days prior to the post, a story in the New York Times reported that prosecutors had offered Barnett a plea deal that would result in a sentence of between 70 and 87 months in prison. However, the publication noted that Barnett's lawyer, Steven Metcalf, was "disappointed" with the offer and argued why such a lengthy sentence was being handed to "a man who had not broken anything nor hurt anyone inside the Capitol."

who had not broken anything nor hurt anyone

A proper salesman always asks for the sale. I suspect the judge will not make a purchase however.

It worked for Tucker Carlson.

Didn't this used to get you a hangin'?

“Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented." - Eli Weisel

"To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public." - Theodore Roosevelt (1918)

"I don’t want to see religious bigotry in any form. It would disturb me if there was a wedding between the religious fundamentalists and the political right. The hard right has no interest in religion except to manipulate it." - Billy Graham 1981

"Politics and governing demand compromise. But these Christians believe they are acting in the name of God, so they can't and won't compromise" - Barry Goldwater

Maybe the worst example I've ever seen of what passes for "journalism" in today's world.

It is what it is.
