I think adding a little more distance to the Sun's orbit around the Earth would be a more effective way to reduce the temperature.

Lawrence O'Donnell showed the video and among other things, called Gohmert the stupidest member of Congress in history.

And to think, he was also a judge at one point in his career.

The bartender asks the rabbit "what'll ya have?"
The rabbit says "I dunno. I'm only here because of Autocorrect.

I'm appalled by the obsequious response by the associate deputy chief of the National Forest Service: "I'd have to follow up with you on that one, Mr Gohmert."

Her response should have been, as tactfully as possible, "What the hell are you talking about? You can't be that stupid can you?"

I don't see her response at all obsequies, but more caught off guard and incredulous at the nature of the question, thinking — 'is he fscking serious?!'

What she should have done is very matter of factly say 'Sure, we can do that, [consults calendar] does Thursday next week work for you?'

When will Gohmert start moving legislation on the Sheep Dandruff Plague devastating his home state?

Given the display of his intellectual prowess in that very clip, I think we can safely say any humor above the level poop jokes presents a struggle for representative Gohmert, let alone actual sarcasm.

There is no upside for a government employee to engage with even the stupidest member of Congress. Budget retaliation will affect their entire department.

If all are afraid and no one speaks out, we're all doomed.

Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out— because I was not a trade unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me."

It's a Congressional hearing, not a Fox News brawl. Language protocol was kept.

She could have "played dumb"; she could have responded with:

"I don't understand, Congressman. What do you mean?" and/or

"How would that work? How could the National Forest Service effect that?"

Let Gohmert dig himself into an even deeper hole.

If he offered that question seriously, would one expect any indication of him comprehending her response meaning anything other than 'Oh, yes sir, we'll get a task force right on it!'

I would thing it would have to be a little more pointed.

A lot of people in his side believe he was using sarcasim, trying to make a point of some kind.
