thumbs up I won't have to yell at my TV every time Jordan opens his mouth.

“I must reject the recommendations of Representatives Banks and Jordan to the Select Committee,” Pelosi said in a statement. “The unprecedented nature of January 6th demands this unprecedented decision.”

Thee and me!

Scoundrel is much too mild a label for Jordan! A reprobate. A goon.

McCarthy has already withdrawn the other three he appointed in response.

Who needs them. Republicans don’t want an investigation and will partisan all results no matter what.

Good. They were only going to gum up the works as much as possible rather than try to fulfill the purpose of the committee.

'McCarthy's picks are disruptive and would undermine this crucial investigation.'

Another attempt by the Republicans to destroy America.

And they'll wail that they "honestly tried to create a non-partisan committee", but were obstructed and rejected by those evil, ultra-partisan Democrats (I believe "Communist" is their current go-to term).

I'm sure a lot of people will be confused when they are told that this isn't a bipartisan committee, but then see will someone on the committee speaking on TV with an (R) next to his/her name.

McCarthy has already said he valued a variety of opinions for the investigation. I’m sorry, but when are opinions helpful in an investigation that hasn’t even begun? How about objectivity, Kev? He said the soft part loud, again.

In contrast, Pelosi said she’s looking for integrity.

Could the differences between them be any wider?

Stolen from twitter:

PELOSI’s response to McCarthy saying she’s playing politics. “Perhaps you mistake me for somebody who would care about that.”

you go girl!

I actually looked forward to the Republicans on the committee squirming on Faux News. I’m disappointed the speaker went that route. They were only five out of 13.

We can't have a repeat of trumpo's in-power bluster and lying. The Treason Caucus is going full blast.

I believe between this and their attempt to sabotage the infrastructure and voting rights bills, the battle has been joined.

He sure didn't value a variety of opinions about Jan. 6 when he threw Cheney overboard.

The thing is, Jordan is a witness. Cheney pointed that out when she supported Pelosi today.

Banks issued a statement insisting that the committee investigate the George Floyd protests.

Neither of them would let the hearings proceed without constant pressure on the Chair to shut them up. And any viewers hoping for information would be turned off by the 'bickering'.

This is the only chance that we will get some congresscritters under oath to say what role they played on 1/5 in preparing for this. And is probably the only chance to get some Pentagon types to testify about any orders they received from Trump or Meadows.

And if they do not testify, there is a small chance the Garland justice department will listen to a contempt referral. Unlike under the previous regime.

I do not think Pelosi had a choice.

Now watch the media whine about no bipartisanship. Except there sits Cheney...

What makes anyone think witnesses won't just ignore Congressional subpoenas? They have in the past without consequence.

Democracy isn’t necessarily bipartisan. It’s way past time pretending so. It must be fought for and defended and if only one political group wants to do so, then that’s how it goes.

Republicans can shriek all they want but what they will not be able to do is point to objective facts that demonstrate otherwise. Get this done and down.

It doesn't matter what they say or think because whatever it is, it's rachet.
