He had a really nasty reaction to the AZ vax so he doesn't want anyone else taking any vax. GREAT! Calls efforts to get people vax'd 'propaganda'

It’s too bad he had a bad reaction, and it’s too bad what was available to him is arguably the least-effective of the Covid vax … absolutely none of which has any relevance to his posturing.

As an authority and advisor on infectious diseases, he’s a great guitarist.

The guy has very little formal education; “Clapton studied at the Kingston College of Art but was dismissed at the end of the academic year…”

I am sorry he had a reaction to the vaccine.
What sort of outcome would he have had if he had gotten COVID?

Would you know my name
If I saw you in heaven?
Would it be the same
If I saw you in heaven?

You’ll find out if you Remain unvaccinated.

Yup he and Van Morrison are fruitcakes in arms on this stuff, and Clapton is the lesser if the nuts. They even did an anti lockdown song back in December.

Stand and deliver
You let them put the fear on you
Stand and deliver
But not a word you heard was true
But if there's nothing you can say
There may be nothing you can do

Do you wanna be a free man
Or do you wanna be a slave?
Do you wanna be a free man
Or do you wanna be a slave?
Do you wanna wear these chains
Until you're lying in the grave?

I don't wanna be a pauper
And I don't wanna be a prince
I don't wanna be a pauper
And I don't wanna be a prince
I just wanna do my job
Playing the blues for friends

Magna Carta, Bill of Rights
The constitution, what's it worth?
You know they're gonna grind us down, ah
Until it really hurts

Is this a sovereign nation
Or just a police state?
You better look out, people
Before it gets too late

You wanna be your own driver
Or keep on flogging a dead horse?
You wanna be your own driver
Or keep on flogging a dead horse?
Do you wanna make it better
Or do you wanna make it worse?

Stand and deliver
You let them put the fear on you
Slow down the river
But not a word of it was true
If there's nothing you can say
There may be nothing you can do

Stand and deliver
Stand and deliver

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

It's not clear from the RS article, but my understanding is that he doesn't want the venues to require vaccination proof, not that he wants everyone attending to be unvaccinated. There are a bunch of artists who are doing the same thing from what I can tell. One small venue I know of is leaving "proof of vaccine" up to the performer and most are not ticking that box, apparently.

I would like to know what his ‘bad reaction’ was.

In a 26 minute interview on YouTube=> [www.youtube.com]

He went on to describe his side effects: “within several hours, I was shaking like a leaf. And I went to bed early, and I couldn’t get home… I was boiling hot and sweating. And then I was cold. And I was out for the count for about a week. I had been preparing for a project where I was going to be playing acoustic guitar with a couple of musicians and we’re all going to film it that week. Not me – [I was] out.”
-

Additionally, the symptoms Clapton describes could also be linked to his peripheral neuropathy. He has spoken extensively in the past about his PN’s effect on his guitar playing. In 2018, for instance, he said: “My hands just about work.” Post-vaccine exacerbation of neuropathy symptoms has been seen before, but advice from an extensive study of neuropathy and its relation to vaccines, as well as from the Foundation For Peripheral Neuropathy, is that people with PN should still be vaccinated.

So many anti vaccine people talk about their rights.

What about the rights of people they infect. Some cannot get vaccinated…the very young, immune system already compromised. Also, throwing away the benefits of herd immunity.

He is a gifted musician but a huge @#$%& bag as a fellow human.

Pretty sure the week he says he lost due to the vax wasn’t any worse than the creative weeks, months and years he lost due to booze and drugs decades ago, none of which helped anyone else (unlike being vaccinated.) It’s a bit late in the game to be righteous about something scrubbing a gig date.

Concerts aren't my 'thing' anymore, not that they figured much in my life before.

But I wouldn't/won't be attending either category of venue, just because of the crowds.

Certainly Green Day will see people who aren't vaccinated with fake vaccination cards.

Vaccination fraud won't be significant, but I posit certainly greater than voter fraud.

So while I applaud Green Day's position and wish them well, I'll wait for a 'Live!' album.

Hmmm. I had a similar reaction to Pfizer. And I STILL recommend people get vaccinated. It’s FAR easier than dealing with COVID-19. I will always take a couple of days of misery when compared to a month of misery and two more months of confusion and brain fog that I experienced under COVID-19. Not to mention being reasonably afraid of dying on a ventilator. Got close to going to the hospital, but my breathing improved enough.

Go to a hospital overflowing with patients and ask how many are there because of shot side effects.

So we've concluded that Eric Clapton is an insignificant pretender with less talent and ability than Tiny Tim. It's funny how we all contort our thinking when somebody is an ass.

The guy has plenty of talent - not everyone is doing as you say. And I must the last guy here still willing to say that Jon Voight was an amazing actor - because he was!

He hasn't made a song worth embracing as "classic" in over 40 years. Including "Layla" and "Wonderful Tonight." Just the fact that people bring his "work" into the conversation regarding his embracing deadly anti-vaccine tropes is kinda unneccessary.

As terrible as William Shockley was, nobody ever considered abandoning or criticizing or re-considering his work.

Gotta disagree here. Layla is a classic. Outstanding arrangement. The drama and interplay of guitarwork between Clapton and Allman blows my mind every time. And though I haven't listened in years there was a time when the live album Just One Night was in solo rotation on my turntable.

Do agree that Wonderful Tonight was schlock.
