That looking up to the right is his thinking, "what do I say that can't possibly be proven to be a lie, because I might get called out on this".

For him to not be able to recall whether he spoke to Dump on 1/6 (and when he did), he either has to be lying or is a victim of dementia -- one of the two. I'm fairly certain EVERY congressperson, staff member, and so on, remembers exactly where they were and what they were doing that day.
