Los Angeles mandates vaccines for eligible students...

As the surge drives hospitalizations, health officials and community leaders are turning to new measures to combat the outbreak. On Wednesday, the Los Angeles City Council voted to require its 50,000 employees to be vaccinated, and the Culver City Unified School District issued a COVID-19 vaccine mandate for eligible students. The student mandate is the first of its kind in California.

Addendum: Wife is suffering from heart and kidney failure. She was transported by ambulance last week and bounced from an overrun target hosp (Saint Joseph's in Burbank) to another overrun (Sherman Oaks) to another stressed (Valley Presbyterian). Treated and released last Friday and readmitted this Monday. She came home today and will NOT be going back to an ER. We'll be bringing in a NPR and wherever support equipment that may be necessary to insure that.

The ER was a scene from a third world country. Relatives and friends weren't allowed into ER waiting so there were literally dozens of family members sitting on curbs, wandering around parking lots and clinging to fences near windows to communicate with those inside. Inside patients were waiting for up to a day for diagnosis and treatment/admittance. Donna was there almost 30 hours before a bed was found.

The ER had a separate outside tent for those showing COVID symptoms and who couldn't enter the main ER. On Monday when we finally left (after 7 hours) that tent was full. It's an underreported catastrophe here in Los Angeles.

Added addendum: When waiting to check in to bring her home I showed my vaxx card to a security type, mentioned the story of the Chicago pharmacist arrested for selling cards and he immediately said he wanted one. He wasn't going to vaxx - if I'd of been 50 years younger I might have punched his face.

Her primary care is with our USC Keck Medical cardiologist so we'll be bringing her there Friday for what may be a bypass decision - wish her well!

Thanks everyone, been a bit rushed lately or I'd have acknowledged you earlier. Also been wondering what the hell got into me to do such a public posting about family health matters.

It's way out of character for me so I guess it was just a matter of trust.

Thanks.
