Maybe now they are since they just instituted a "government" but what about the last couple weeks when there was no actual government?

Closer to the previous Yugoslav Federation. Yugo was a collection of ethnics stitched together by a totalitarian government. Afghanistan is similar in that it promises to be a collection of tribes stitched together by a totalitarian government.

Yugoslavia was propped up by the Soviet Union and disintegrated in tandem with it, Taliban doesn't have any such crutch on the horizon and will most likely disintegrate a bit sooner.

Nope. It never was a Nation. It was a line on map, a buffer between Britsh India and Russia and Persia.

The lines also served to cut half the Pashti/Pakinstanis off from the other, and cut the Farsi Speaking "Daris" off from Farsi speaking Persia!

San Antonio, TX (in the old city)
