Ivermectin overdose death probed in NM: “I don’t want more people to die”
A second person is in intensive care, a health official with the state says.
...In a press briefing Thursday, New Mexico Human Services Secretary Dr. David Scrase said he took a "calculated risk" in announcing the suspected overdose death "without firm documentation" that ivermectin was to blame. An investigation into the cause of death could take weeks, he said.
But word that ivermectin was the cause of the death was "reliable," Dr. Scrase said. "I don't want more people to die of an ivermectin overdose in the next four weeks while we're gathering data."
"I'd just like people to know that—if there are people out there taking it—it can kill them," he added.
...the drug comes with serious side effects, such as severe skin rashes that can require hospitalization, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach pain, facial or limb swelling, neurologic adverse events (dizziness, seizures, confusion), sudden drops in blood pressure, and liver injury, according to the FDA.

It's weird that all my life, everyone in the world made fun of the old-timey snake oil salesman and wondered how people could be so stupid as to buy what he was selling.
We were told that before modern medicine, people would be desperate for cures and that made them susceptible to chicanery. What will the excuse in the future be?

Yes, put that on a billboard near the state capitol. (DOT regs state common carriers cannot have political endorsement signs on their vehicles.)

That's the kind of image that I wish would be filtered to resemble artwork. Because it does make a good statement, but in its current form I feel the main point is to dupe us.

I only looked at the last one because it has an nih.gov link (which doesn't mean it's actually an NIH study). It has nothing to do with Covid-19 and just talks about historical use of ivermectin.
I posted that one because it's sometimes getting used by the antivaxxers as the basis for the newer ones (the first two links I posted).
