Texas-Sized Stupid- 1.89million haven't gotten their second shot

'Against the delta variant, McDeavitt said, the effectiveness of one dose is akin to “not being vaccinated at all.”
A large number of Texans apparently have decided to stick with one dose of the two-dose Moderna or Pfizer vaccines: 1.89 million have missed their second dose as of Sept. 6, according to the Texas Department of State Health Services. More than 1 million of them are more than 90 days overdue for their second dose.

That means that of those who received a first dose, 11% haven’t gotten their second shot within the recommended time frame.

“Those numbers [confirm] a lot of what we have been seeing. We knew it,” said Dr. James McDeavitt, the executive vice president and dean of clinical affairs at Baylor College of Medicine. “It's problematic. It always has been, but it’s even more problematic with the delta variant.”

then lie about it, and don't die, or kill others. Or tell them to @#$%& off, none of their business.

Hypocrites. Freedom is a one-way street. You can't tell me that I have to get vaccinated but I can tell you that you can't get vaccinated.

Sadly, some in the South, especially younger folks, have had to sneak into clinics to get vaccinated... going someplace where it apparently won't get documented, at least not in a major way, and they're literally having to go in through the backdoor of the clinic and in some cases disguised... I kid you not. That's truly sad.

It is so lost on several generations that freedom isn't free. With the freedom we sometimes all too frequently take for granted, that it was earned, through some serious sacrifices, including their lives, by those who came before us. Those same ancestors would likely be appalled that something as precious as our lives, are being squandered away by those who don't trust and respect those in their communities, who are trying to help them not get sick, or even die.

You look at pandemics in the past, and someone in a household was sick, the whole household went into lock down, and you either lived together, or died together. Try that these days. Too many spoiled, selfish and self righteous people who don't care enough about their friends and neighbors to sacrifice a little bit of themselves, to keep others safe.

What the hell is wrong with so many Americans these days? Do other countries have such a wholesale movement of idiocacy like we do here?

Gotta wonder about some of the data, though. Small sample-size in point: bfd's card shows both vaccines were applied. The State of California only says one was applied. No amount of hassling that entity has helped out. There are likely others in the same California Roll right here on MRF…

So who knows exactly how many Texans are really only one-vaxxers.
