Stop saying $3.5 trillion safety net bill. It is $350 B a year over 10 years

The Pentagon's 10 year budget is $7.5 trillion and I don't hear Joe Manchin saying we don't have the money. That's because it is never expressed as 10 years. Only 1 year at a time. $750 B a year.

I truly hope the Progressives do not back down on investments the country desperately needs. The bill is already pared down. A lot.

It’s $350B a year over ten years.

It is what it is.

And probably not as much as we need to spend in some areas.

Definitely not enough. Dems started this at $10b a year. Closer to the truth.

We went on a trip from Seattle to Phoenix, then across I-10 and up I-5 for a bit, off to some National Parks, watched Paul F eat, then back to I-5 in Oregon and up to Seattle.

As soon as we left Washington state, the roads sucked a lot less. Liberal priorities I guess.

I phrased it that way on purpose. When there is enough money, everything gets taken care of. Instead, the party in charge decides what is important.

You can be a millionaire on a $12 an hour job...after 40 years of full-time employment.

$12 * 40 hours * 52 weeks * 40 years = $998400

Of course, the assumes you spend none of it on necessities along the way. But that's pretty much the same sort of logic that critics have of spending bills--they never recognize the necessities in there, only pork, waste and fraud. Well, other than defense--that's always all good no matter how much it is and whydoyouhateamerica??

One of the strategies I heard they may use is reduce some of the programs to less than 10 years to reduce the 3.5T total.

If they used the per annum amount, then it wouldn't change.
