Yup, their first effort at 'violating the open meetings act and illegally excluding the public from meetings' didn't stick, so why not go for the opposite.

Fingers crossed for Mrs. Z. What little I could find online seemed to indicate that recall support came from the MAGA end of Anchorage political life.

Good initial count results, but still more ballots to be counted.

No recall: 5,702 ballots | 61.18%
Yes recall: 3,618 ballots | 38.82%

I expect it will tighten up a bit but would seem to be a hard hole for them to dig out of.

Yes, the MAGAites have metastasized into ‘Save Anchorage’ and various affiliated private groups on FB.

A ‘normal’ election cycle will see about 12,500 votes - I’m guessing down 5-10% due to the special election nature of it.

Congrats. Bummer that she had to deal with a recall but nice to see the money her opponents spent was for naught.
