Rep. Paul Gosar tweets photoshopped anime video showing him killing Rep. Ocasio-Cortez and attacking President Biden.

Rep. Paul A. Gosar (R-Ariz.) shared a photoshopped, animated video that depicts him killing Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) and swinging two swords at President Biden, prompting condemnation and calls for his Twitter and Instagram accounts to be suspended.

Ocasio-Cortez responded Monday night after arriving in Glasgow, Scotland, as part of a congressional delegation. Gosar, she said, will probably “face no consequences” because House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) “cheers him on with excuses.”

No, it's not "OK", but...

Griffin has been a PROFESSIONAL comedian for 40 years. Gosar is (supposed to be) an elected member of the U.S. Congress.

I can tell the difference; apparently Gosar’s "digital director", Jessica Lycos, can't.

No, it's not "OK", but...

Griffin has been a PROFESSIONAL comedian for 40 years. Gosar is (supposed to be) an elected member of the U.S. Congress.

I can tell the difference; apparently Gosar’s "digital director", Jessica Lycos, can't.

Also, she lost her job and a couple of years' income over that.

Comedy, satire, parody are protected expression, to a great degree.

We all don't have to like all of it, much of it being in poor tasted, as far as I'm concerned.

Yes, and for a comedian, as well (though I have no example.=).

And it's apparently OK for mere mortals, such as — oh, say — Forumites, as long as it's about a person who isn't famous, say a Florida man, or a politician, actor, or someine we don't like, as long as we keep it amongst us, as long as we think we're being clever or fun.

Speaking of comedy, it's funny how 'standards' work.

So is it your view that elected officials have no higher obligation to others than is imposed by this private forum? A forum with TOS that would prohibits the sort of personal abuse this mentally imbalanced Congresscritter has indulged in.
