I have to keep reminding myself that it’s the press’s job to challenge the party in power (I guess).

They do have to work a lot harder these days, though.

Anyway, that’s what I have been telling myself a lot lately.

I have ZERO hope for improvement with ANY of today's politicians. What I DO expect is that the middle class will be bent over and have to take it up the butt. Our children's, children's, children's, children will be still be paying for this debacle.

I heard a recording of Pres. Coolidge (I think) railing against the deficit run up by a Congress that was under the complete control of his party, The spending was something like $5B. All of WWII cost about $250B, deficit spending which finally got us out of the Great Depression.. I think our children’s, etc. will be just fine thanks to inflation. Worry more about us leaving them a broken-down country if we don’t spend. Now that would be a real debacle!

Regular access to CNN is one thing I never missed when we cut our cable years ago. By crafting the never-ending news cycle they remain a serious impediment to democracy.

It’s just noise, and noise is often more harmful than lies.
