Trump as Speaker of the House in 2023? It could happen.

When I'm in prison for saving humanity, I just need forum members to keep enough money on my books to keep me in Hershey Bars and one of those clear prison tv's.

Why would Trump want to be speaker?

No way. Voldemort has figured out via his media SPAC how to make $billions. He's not going to give that back.

I frequently have the same thoughts.

My first thought as well. The GQP has repeatedly shown absolute devotion to Trump and zero regard for anything that makes sense!

“Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented." - Eli Weisel

"To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public." - Theodore Roosevelt (1918)

"I don’t want to see religious bigotry in any form. It would disturb me if there was a wedding between the religious fundamentalists and the political right. The hard right has no interest in religion except to manipulate it." - Billy Graham 1981

"Politics and governing demand compromise. But these Christians believe they are acting in the name of God, so they can't and won't compromise" - Barry Goldwater

All it would take would be for Biden and Harris to accompany him on a stroll down the middle of Fifth Avenue, then an unfortunate "self defense" shooting, and Speaker of the House becomes POTUS, and then he pardons himself for whatever occurred. Just needs a bunch of his cultists to play along each step of the way. And if someone were to present this plan to him, he'd say "Sure, lets do it" like he did with all of the Jan 6th plans.

He'll probably even be able to run again in 2024 and squeeze more than 8 years out of the 22nd amendment.

Section 1. No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice, and no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of the President more than once.

[en.wikipedia.org]

Of course in order to do that he will have to admit that Joe Biden won in 2020 and was the elected president, but he takes whichever side of an argument is to his advantage and that moment.

I would advise Biden and Harris to stay in their bunkers if Trump was speaker.

Trump becomes speaker because the GOP has taken back the house - impeachment of Harris flies through.

Senate flips to the GOP - the trial is over in 15 minutes.

Biden tries to select a new VP, but that requires both the house and senate to confirm his selection - the house drags the process house

House impeaches Biden, senate trial is over in 10 minutes.

Trump assumes the presidency.

2024 elections are canceled.

Luckily (in this scenario) it takes 2/3 of the senate to convict (and remove.)
