Looks like Netanyahu is going to take a plea deal in his corruption trial

In the reported agreement, Netanyahu will admit to two counts of breach of trust, resulting in a suspended prison sentence and a few months of prison time that will be converted to community service.

The major remaining sticking point appears to be the insistence of the attorney general, Avichai Mandelblit, on a charge of moral turpitude – a formal declaration that Netanyahu is desperate to avoid as it could bar him from political life for seven years.

I don’t mind the slap-on-the-wrist sentence, as long as it gets Netanyahu out of politics. IMO, the world would be better for it.

I want to see him in prison where he belongs. Put him on public trial because the public deserves that of these high ranking officials. Let the public see how dirty they are. I wish we had done that with Nixon and Agnew. I hope we do it with Pres. Trump.

Plea deal is a good resolution, political trials often end up as show trials and civil disruption.

I would have described his political career as already being over, plea deal or not.
