No I don't there is an ulterior motive of that sort. It is pure regional politics.

Biden is only going to nominate a very pro choice person and Clyburn and Graham know that.

I don't believe she has ruled on a reproductive rights case but she'll certainly be questioned on it. She did rule for gay marriage before the SCOTUS landmark case, She has ruled in favor of voting rights, and for vaccine mandates.

I could see Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski voting for the Dem too. I'm not worried about this person getting onto the Court, just curious which of the outstanding candidates he will pick.

He's likely decided that this is the least onerous of the likely candidates and is sending a signal to Biden that if he makes any other pick there'll be a big fight with Republicans. Biden should totally ignore what Graham is signaling.

Wait a couple of days and Graham will have the opposite opinion. He’s a genius at calling attention to himself by making click-bait. I don’t understand why anyone takes what he says seriously.

Watching Graham on one of the Sunday morning political shows, he didn't really give her his full endorsement, at least not in the sense that he'd commit to voting in favor of her appointment.
