Somebody needs to be asking why Russians have been allowed to put so much of their stolen fortunes in western investments in the first place. And donate so much to US and UK politicians and causes. Looking at you NRA. And Brexit.

That crap needs to stop. Better late than never.

Very few teams in the English Premier League are owned by English investors. It seems to be a feather in the cap to own a PL club. This article shows how diverse club ownership is. I truly believe that in this case, the Russian bought the team because he wanted a football club of his very own. He shopped around in different countries and leagues until he found one that was available.

Russians are allowed to put so much of their fortunes into western investments for the same reasons the Saudis are. The power of $$$$$.
