... an interesting perspective. Could a SC ruling be overturned on this basis? The SC seems all too willing to grant religious exceptions, so this could be a problem for them.

SC can overrule itself, as it appears to be poised to be doing now.

Since you now have some Republicans claiming that the leak of Alito's brief is a greater threat to our democracy than January 6th, it's not surprising that you have these kinds of statements surfacing.
