Right-Right-Right wing Mastriano wins GOP primary in PA

Hopefully, this hard-right Trumper is paving the way for a Democratic victory in November.

Pennsylvania state Sen. Doug Mastriano is a staunch hard-liner in the GOP and has centered much of his campaign around the unsubstantiated claims of widespread voter fraud in 2020. He’s also supported outlawing abortion without any exceptions and rolling back privacy protections for people who contract COVID-19.

The state senator scored a surprise endorsement from former President Trump over the weekend, helping inject a late jolt into Mastriano’s bid.

Still, Republicans had scrambled to try to head off a Mastriano nomination and waged a bungling effort to coalesce around an alternative candidate.

That's how Indiana got a D senator when the tea party won the nomination of a guy who was way off the rails. Shortly before the election the R candidate made a comment to the effect that pregnancy resulting from rape is "something God intended."

Oz vs some-guy-who-might-as-well-be-Oz still too close to call.

What is this person running for? Oh, Governor. His opponent is Dem Josh Shapiro.

This is not the Senate race in which Fetterman is the Dem opponent. That GOP primary is still too close to call.

I hope the lady wins... she may be GQP crazy but I don't doubt that at some point she'll do something so far outside the right's rationalizations it'll seal her defeat.

The Pennsylvania GOP gubernatorial will be decided by counting absentee ballots, at this point candidates are fine with it. Until someone loses, hypocrisy much?

In North Carolina's Republican Ted Budd vs. Democrat Cheri Beasley Senate race, Budd has already started cranking out the slanderous TV ads against Cheri, didn't take his campaign long. I think she has a decent chance of beating him if he keeps it up.

Don't count on it yet. Crime is at an all time high in Philly. Small stores are closing shop due to constant robberies. The Philly DA has done ZERO to stop the epidemic. Many people are fed up and are now supporting Republicans.

Philly had 750 carjackings in 2021. That number will probably be surpassed before the end of May.

Yep. It's probably going to be a tough one to win. People are going to focus on those things - understandably, but because of that will minimize the threat to democracy Mastriano presents.

Republicans control the Senate and the House here comfortably. What have they done about the crime rate in Philly?

Pulling for and supporting Cheri Beasley. Heard this was going to be the most expensive Senate race in history. The ads are just gonna be wall to wall, and yeah his are already awful.
