"Herschel Walker, the Republican nominee for Senate from Georgia, who has often spoken out against absentee fathers, particularly in Black households, on Tuesday publicly acknowledged having fathered a second son with whom he is not in contact."

The admission came in response to a report by The Daily Beast, which said it had confirmed the 10-year-old boy’s parentage but withheld his name and that of his mother. It said the child’s mother had sued Mr. Walker a year after giving birth to obtain a declaration of paternity and child support, and that the suit lasted until August 2014, when Mr. Walker was ordered to pay child support. The boy, by then more than 2 years old, took Mr. Walker’s last name.

my god the repubs are stoopid.

It would work better as political warfare if Sen. Warnock were happily married and living with his own kids. But he is not. His ex-wife is currently suing him for more child support.

I hope they keep the names of this mother and Walker child out of the news. They don't deserve the hassle.

Last poll I saw, these 2 were tied.

Aargh.

Still amazing how Walker has any political support among sentient beings.

Herschel says that the greatest achievement of his life is being a good dad, so that can't be true.

I'm just sick to death with all of them. I can't believe I'm longing for the good old days when "stupid" meant George W and "radical" meant Newt Gingrich. At least they could fart and chew gum at the same time.

When asked for confirmation of the Daily Beast’s first report, the Walker campaign provided CNN with a statement from campaign manager Scott Paradise.

“Herschel had a child years ago when he wasn’t married. He’s supported the child and continues to do so. He’s proud of his children. To suggest that Herschel is ‘hiding’ the child because he hasn’t used him in his political campaign is offensive and absurd,” said Paradise.

“A” child; “the” child.

Turns out that should have been the “children”, that he’s absolutely not hiding:

Quote

The campaign of Herschel Walker publicly acknowledged this week that the Republican Senate candidate has three children by women he was not married to in addition to his son by his former wife.

… the Daily Beast published a new article on Thursday reporting that Walker has two more children who were previously unknown to the public, including a 13-year-old son by one woman and an adult daughter who was born to another woman while Walker was still in college.

That’s three children, with three different women other than his (former) wife, at least one of which had to sue Walker to get child support.

But he’s not hiding anything; in fact, he’s so proud of them he never mentions them publicly, even when he is bemoaning fatherless Black families.
