In this time of pandemic, European war and economic stress, it's hard to determine why any political result occurs.

This is certainly not the most dire time in European history, but there's enough to skew any democratic election.

I agree.

Knowing what we do about the far right in France, any gains for them are a concern. And these wins are much bogger rhan expected. The extremists turned out to vote and the middle stayed home. Def. some lessons for Amerocams there.
