Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity... unless you're dealing with 45, MTG, Matt Gaetz, or Alex Jones -- or the people who work with them -- in which case, it's safest and most reliable to assume both malice and stupidity.

He looked slightly less foolish than Jonesy, and that's not a good look.

That would have been such great video if he'd just simply asked the question, then show his evidence that Jones lied.

As is, it was a little painful to watch.

That one little clip was not flattering. I'd prefer more Perry Mason, less Jackie Chiles. Though some Columbo would work well, too.

New York (CNN Business) Right-wing talk show host Alex Jones will have to pay the parents of a Sandy Hook shooting victim a little more than $4 million in compensatory damages, a jury decided Thursday, capping a stunning and dramatic case that showcased for the public the real-world harm inflicted by viral conspiracy theories.

The award from the jury was far less than what the plaintiffs, Scarlett Lewis and Neil Heslin, had asked for. At the start of the trial, attorneys for Lewis and Heslin asked the jury to award their clients $150 million in compensatory damages.

A separate, shorter trial during which punitive damages will be discussed is now expected. Punitive damages are awarded when the court finds the defendant's behavior to be especially offensive.

$4.1M sends a message, but to me it reads like 'You probably shouldn't have done that'.

And it far too low for punitive damages, but I don't know his net worth.

Low double digits would get their attention.

I want to seen financially broken and crippled, and a year and a day minimum, in prison for the perjury, though I don't know the minimum and maximum for that.

And I also want this to be the first of many such trials, especially for justice for Wandrea Moss and Ruby Freeman.

They were knowingly, falsely blamed for voter fraud, costing 45* the GA election.

Trump’s lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, falsely claimed that video footage showed the women engaging in “surreptitious illegal activity” and acting suspiciously, like drug dealers “passing out dope.” In early January, Trump himself singled out Freeman, by name, 18 times in a now-famous [that should be now-infamous] call in which he pressed Georgia officials to alter the state’s results. He called the 62-year-old temp worker a “professional vote scammer,” a “hustler” and a “known political operative” who “stuffed the ballot boxes.”

Rudy started it, but 45* carried the ball and both are responsible for making their life a living Hell on Earth, and they need to be held accountable on that alone, separate from any and other criminality they committed.

Judgements will be tied up in appeals I imagine, but 45* should be made to make those two women very, very rich via compensatory and especially punitive damages.


And while I'm fantasizing, seize Mar-a-Largo in assets forfeiture, then pave 'paradise' and put up a parking lot.

Maybe for a Bob's Big Boy and Dollar Tree.

I'd also like them to seize a certain New Jersey golf club and grounds, including a certain tax-subsidized burial plot, and nuke-and-pave it all at the current owner's expense. But hey, that's just me.
