OK. So, just to be crystal clear here – Trump is saying that if he had it to do all over, he would run for president again because it made him more famous. That the key motivation for him to run for president was to be well-known – and it worked.

That’s a startlingly honest admission – even for Trump. He didn’t even attempt to go for a more traditional answer like, I don’t know, helping people or seeing policies he believed in enacted and executed. Just right to the purely personal.

Sure! Other "golden" celebrities have done it.

It's pretty well known that T***p originally ran for president solely to gain more fame. He didn't expect to win and actually didn't even want to win. It was just about self-promotion.

This is what I believed when I heard he was running.

I was both surprised and disappointed that he won.

45*'s history of extensive grifting was an unknown for me, though I'd heard he was a jerk.

What he became, which was an extension of himself on steroids, and what hatred, corruption, distrust and evil he brought, enabled, and stoked, was nothing I would have ever foreseen.

Worse, the huge number of people who see this and are still pro-45* and choose to ignore it because they trust the far Right and hair-brained extremists is — heartbreaking.

Half-joking about the Handmaid's Tale aspects, I have little to joke about now.

Maybe but remember Trump was one of the first to jump on the Too Big To Fail train and sew up enough others to cusion any sort of fall.

How many "Too Big" bankers went to jail after the bank crash of 2008? Didn't stop them from foreclosing on hundreds of thousand of homeowners.

Well, Trump once said “It’s very possible that I could be the first presidential candidate to run and make money on it”.

He also thought he could make money selling steaks, and wine, and running Scottish golf courses, and Trump University. It didn’t work out that way in the campaign either, so ever since then, he’s been trying to monetize it.

There have been a couple of articles in the last few days that 4 or 5 gubernatorial candidates endorsed by Trump have been campaigning very little, mostly because they have no money to run ads. This is while Trump’s PAC is sitting on something like $90M.

It’s all about the Benjamins. They’re mine, says Trump. Go away.
