I agree, it won’t happen. As I’ve stated before, these guys are all talk. There’s too few of them deluded enough to take up arms. Because despite all their whining, the.vast majority of them know they have it good historically speaking. Why they would give up their sofas and bonbons to put themselves through the bell of a civil war? Just not gonna happen, LOL.

I think that what you say is true with the exception of a few percent that are alienated and angry looking to blame someone even to the point of violence (e.g., Proud Boys). I think the problem is that though the vast majority of the tens of millions of people will keep their grievances this side of the violence line, a small percent of tens of millions is still a lot of people. Whether they can coalesce into groups that can effectively actualize much violence is, I think, an open question.

Right, stuff like what Ted and pdq describe may very well happen. But at that scale it’s nothing more than terrorism. Even when McVeigh blew his wad, he expected it to trigger a wider rebellion, but ended up being nothing more than a criminal act.

Some of the under 40s that I work with have expressed concern over civil war. Didn't think I'd ever hear that.

They did not have enough seditionists on Jan 6 to enforce their will on the country. On the contrary, if things got much further out of hand, the rest of the country would have gone to town on their collective asses.

The "motivated" ones already went to DC on January 6, attacked federal LEOs. and got 5+ years in federal prison (remember, no parole) for their trouble.
