Even Matt Gaetz couldn't make it

Gaetz, who is currently in Washington, DC, told Associated Press reporter Farnoush Amiri on Tuesday he would not be able to attend the rally due to inclement weather affecting his flight, but said he would support Trump "in spirit."

A spokesperson for Gaetz clarified to Insider that Gaetz could not make his flight to Mar-a-Lago because the GOP House leadership vote occurred at the same time as his scheduled flight and the congressman hoped the weather would delay the flight.

"Unfortunately, because of the timing of both the scheduled House leadership vote and his flight, he is unable to attend President Trump's event tonight," the spokesperson said.

However, the Independent reported 80% of flights coming out of Reagan National Airport were on schedule, despite light drizzle.

So technically, NO congressperson attended?

Must have been disappointing for Donnie.

Mar a Lago used to be Trump's palace where some people went to ask if they could kiss his ring and get his blessing and other people were just there to try to get money and other people were starry eyed sycophants.

It seems like over the next several months that Mar a Lago will become more and more like a gold gilded bunker with a lot fewer ring kissers and maybe even fewer people there just trying to get money, leaving Trump surrounded in his bunker more and more with sycophants telling him whatever he wants to hear.

Okay, well, that's probably just wishful imagery on my part.

he was stripped of committee assignments and he's gone in January. Why spend time and money to be in DC? This is a young guy whose life just fell apart - he's gonna have to think it out for a while.

Imagine if any of us were fortunate enough to be elected to congress. How seriously we would take that responsibility. How fortunate we would feel.
