Merrick Garland to name Special Counsel for Trump investigations today

Trump, including his role in events leading up to the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol and his handling of sensitive government documents.

Kinda steps on the notion that ex-presidents should be treated just like anybody else would be, but it's probably the best move to make.

Theoretically this would help insulate the investigations from future political meddling from what I’ve been reading.

(And theoretically allow investigations to continue unhindered if Trump becomes a presidential candidate.)

Exactly. Also, it insulates Garland from (bogus) charges he’s personally out to get Trump.

Garland should appoint a special prosecutor to charge Mitch McConnell.

Not sure with what, but it would fit into the Trumpian way of doing business.

The only one it helps is DeSantis. Tax free evangelical pastors are scrambling to claim they were "used" so now it's time for their flock to be fleeced by someone else.

Reading about the guy, no mention of Republican or Democrat, which is fine w me.

Harvard law, highly respected. The only potential red flag to me is that he represented HCA for a couple of years.

Trump says he will not participate. That’s what I believe Marie Antoinette said too.
