The most interesting thing I noticed is that the entire ongoing "Special Military Operation" is completely justified (in their minds) because the Constitution of the Russia Federation defines the land the fighting is taking place on as part of Russia (albeit only recently, as one of the participants noted - so I presume there was an amendment that did this, i.e. added Crimea in 2014, and has some wording regarding the rest of Ukraine).
