At least 23 Georgia counties offering voting today in the Warnock v Walker runoff

I would guestimate this covers 80% of the state's population, all major cities have Saturday voting. And this is where most Dems live.

Go Georgia Dems, we're pulling for you!

GoP effectively suppressed their own voters by trying to atop Saturday voting. Oops.

A number of Georgia counties have less than 5000 voters, some less than 2000. I can see those places not wanting the extra expense of staffing a precinct on Saturday.

I was planning on voting tomorrow, but when they added the extra day, they took away the Sunday voting at my preferred early voting place.
It’s not a big deal, as I will just vote Tuesday or Wednesday.
Glad people who need to vote on Saturday have the chance.

It looks like my county just reallocated the staff and voting hours/locations to make way for the Saturday voting.
I suspect other counties may do the same.

Having all these tiny counties goes back to colonial days. The county seat had to be close enough to everyone so you could do the round trip in a day via horse.

South Carolina is a small state but we have 43 counties. Administratively very inefficient, voting is one example. Also enables corruption.

Being a small county is a poor excuse to reduce voting access.

Early voting in my county is next week, M-F. We're going on Tuesday because I think Mon is going to be a mess. The first day of early voting for the general had lines out the courthouse door. The second day was fine.

My wife and I just got back from voting. Fortunately the early voting location is a mile from our house (yet not our regular voting precinct). We waited for about 90 minutes. Of course the slow down was due to only four people checking in for 10 voting machines. Overall not a bad experience. The wait was consistently 2-3 hours over the weekend.
