I've never known or cared about Elon's political views before...but if he's going to try and use twitter to get a maga q-publican elected, i guess we have to notice.

(I know I shouldn’t be, but…) I am constantly astounded by the (initial) perception of the latest and greatest Republican candidates. So many people were expecting the office itself to somehow transform Trump into being “presidential” (like after he recited his first SOTU speech off the teleprompter) when anyone could see what a malignant narcissist he was and remained. There are a couple of political obits in print now over Sarah Palin, who was hailed as the “rising star” of the Republican party and is now rightly seen as a talentless hack who utilized Trumpian politics before Trump.

The press even saw Bush II as some sort of “return to normalcy” after Clinton, a centrist, a “unifier”, and someone they’d like to have a beer with, until he declared himself the War President and dragged us all along on his frat-boy fantasies.

So yeah, DeSantis is “sensible and centrist”? No, not in any rational observer’s world; not even close, with plenty of evidence to the contrary. But Musk is no rational observer, nor unfortunately, is much of our political press at times.
