Not yet, the house has not passed the rules package. It can be amended or changed by vote. Leadership could put all the concessions in place but it still needs to pass. Some moderates are already objections.

This may put the Dems in the driver's seat as they could join the rebels to block changes and pass the mess.

Its only happening like this because centrist republicans....whatever that is a this point....are closer to wingnut republicans than centrist democrats.

I've been having this debate forever with friends who believe "if we just had viable multiple parties" many of our legislative problems would be solved. They simply fail to see that the wackos will have their concomitant parties as well.

Hurts like a bastid...

When a few whack-a-doodles gain control over the discussion, there is no more discussion. Kind of like a congregational church… most all of the time a democratic, self-governance works, but let just one nut case in, and all bets are off.

That's exactly what happened in the House of Representatives this week …
