Well... remember, Dershowitz says you can't prosecute a sitting president.

And Republicans in Congress agreed.

I still say Biden and crew know what they're doing. The documents could very well be things that were deemed too sensitive to allow Trump to get his hands on them after he was elected in 2016.

The arrogance of politicians who play carelessly with the security of our country by their beliefs that classified documents are their own personal playthings is just beyond me. All politicians this careless, including Biden and Trump, need to be held accountable.

At least Biden is behaving like an adult, and not following his GOP counterpart by refusing to cooperate and crying online in an elementary school manner that it's all a scam by losers to make him look bad.

Bet you dimes to doughnuts every president and VP has had classified stuff mixed into the papers they took home. Especially considering the sheer volume of paperage administrations handle--it had to be even worse in the typewriter days. Most of it is probably innocuous. Not every classified document is a list of all US spies and their last known locations. And it was all routinely returned when discovered, we just didn't hear about it.

But not every president loaded up multiple boxes with every piece of paper within their reach as they packed up for home, then pretended they didn't have any papers at all when the National Archives came calling.

In his news conference, Garland said they were locked in Biden's garage (not good). He has also appointed a Special Council to investigate.

Garland had to appoint a Special Counsel just to make it seem that Biden is not being held to a different standard than is Trump. But, I'm willing to bet a lot that this will end in a whimper for Trump without a prosecution. And, of course, the same for Biden. If they prosecute Trump and not Biden, or at least indict Biden to prosecute when he's no longer president, it will cause a huge uproar and likely include the independents. You mess with the independents and you lose elections. Just ask the Republican party concerning Trump's picks in the midterms.

Let's wait for all the facts to come out.

Remember that there are different levels of classification, and it's also possible the documents weren't actually classified after all... maybe declassified but not actually marked as such.

One document consisting of one page was discovered among stored materials in an adjacent room.”



... it's not like we're talking about boxes and boxes here, people... and also Biden's lawyers have come forward with this, they haven't had to fight to get these things back... false equivalencies abound...

The wording is too gentle. The Dayglow Dotard lied about having them, tried to refuse letting them look for them, hid them when they forced the issue, lied again about still having more after National Archives did a second review of known missing documents, and it took a full on raid after they refused to respond to a subpoena.

A valid point but... the Secret Service should not have access to classified documents, so unless they were wrongly handled at other locations in the first place, they would not be available to plant. (Still wouldn't put it past them to pull from trash bins... but it would be very interesting if there were a document that were knowingly disposed of properly elsewhere to appear in this collection...)
