“Sidney Powell is lying by the way. I caught her. It’s insane,” Mr. Carlson wrote to Ms. Ingraham on Nov. 18, 2020.

Ms. Ingraham responded: “Sidney is a complete nut. No one will work with her. Ditto with Rudy.”

Mr. Carlson continued, “Our viewers are good people and they believe it,” he added, making clear that he did not.
The messages also show that such doubts extended to the highest levels of the Fox Corporation, with Rupert Murdoch, its chairman, calling Mr. Trump’s voter fraud claims “really crazy stuff.”

On one occasion, as Mr. Murdoch watched Mr. Giuliani and Ms. Powell on television, he told Suzanne Scott, chief executive of Fox News Media, “Terrible stuff damaging everybody, I fear.”

...

On Nov. 12, in a group text chain among Ms. Ingraham, Mr. Carlson and Mr. Hannity, Mr. Carlson pointed to a tweet in which a Fox reporter, Jacqui Heinrich, fact-checked a tweet from Mr. Trump referring to Fox broadcasts and said there was no evidence of voter fraud from Dominion.

“Please get her fired,” Mr. Carlson said. He added: “It needs to stop immediately, like tonight. It’s measurably hurting the company. The stock price is down. Not a joke.” Ms. Heinrich had deleted her tweet by the next morning.

What a surprise. Not.

They were also vaccinated while spreading FUD about the vaccine.

Mos Eisley has nothing on FNC.

I hope Dominion Voting Systems doesn't settle. I want to see Fox's perfidy exposed over multiple news cycles.

I do too. If they settle, as is always a distinct possibility, then I hope Dominion insist on a full public apology. A monetary settlement with no admission of guilt would be unacceptable.

Any settlement is a win for Fox. Nightly admissions of guilt and culpability would be better.

no point in settling - they need the world to understand that they do legitimate work. Setting with Fox really clouds that message. They need to prove to the world that fox lied about what they do.

I am shocked, shocked, that all those FauxNews personalities are affirmed liars!

"In science it often happens that scientists say, 'You know that's a really good argument; my position is mistaken,' and then they would actually change their minds and you never hear that old view from them again. They really do it. It doesn't happen as often as it should, because scientists are human and change is sometimes painful. But it happens every day. I cannot recall the last time something like that happened in politics or religion." (1987) -- Carl Sagan

Yahoo news:

Quote

Two days after Election Day 2020, the Fox News host Tucker Carlson texted his producer warning that Fox News' decision to call the state of Arizona for Joe Biden on election night could spell doom for the network.

Y’know, that’s just not what Fox News viewers want to hear.

Quote

"We worked really hard to build what we have," Carlson texted his producer, Alex Pfeiffer, on November 5, 2020, according to the filing. Referring to colleagues who projected the results, Carlson texted: "Those @#$%& are destroying our credibility. It enrages me."

“Credibility”?

Also, “integrity”, “truth”, “fair and balanced”, etc.

Quote

Carlson went on to say that Trump was good at "destroying things. He's the undisputed world champion of that. He could easily destroy us if we play it wrong."

Like, admit that he actually lost? Dear God, we can’t do that!

Man, if they let Faux News skate on this given how red-handed they have them, then anyone can knowingly lie and defame anyone and any company.

Yeah, but didn't Faux News previously win a lawsuit or get one dismissed because they said something to the effect of everyone knows the Fox News Channel is entertainment not news?

They should be sued (by legitimate news organizations) for product mislabelling. Oh, wait...

I think that may have been earlier in this Dominion lawsuit (or the Smartmatic one). Not sure tho.

PS - No, you’re right. Tucker Carlson said (on his show) that Karen McDougal “extorted” $160K from Trump to stay quiet. In fact, the Enquirer guy paid her that much for her story, which he promptly buried as a favor to Trump. In any case, the judge bought the argument that no reasonable person should believe what Carlson says.

Personal libel based on a single verbal characterization is a tough case, tho. Dominion/Smartmatic have lost tons-o-money based on a concerted, prolonged smear that the smearers knew was false, yet aggressively pushed.

It ought to be open-and-shut - I can’t think of another case quite this egregious - but who knows?
