this one came back to me this afternoon.

Aide: Would you like to 'turn on', Mr. President?
Nixon: Turn on who?

(I can't remember the source, but it was definitely a comedy album)

Dunno.

How 'bout this one?

George Bush received his morning briefing.

"Mr. President, we're going to have to make a statement. Thirteen Brazilian soldiers were killed during human rights protests yesterday."

Bush was silent for a moment, appearing deeply touched.

Eventually, he spoke. "Dear God," he said, "how much is a brazilian?"

The Bush line's a classic.

I think my Nixon line was from a record in the late 60's-very early 70's

That Nixon joke appeared in some kind of comedy album back when Nixon wasn't popular with marijuana users (amongst others) so one of his advisors tells him that they are going to suggest that he turn on. The joke of course is that he doesn't understand what that means, and treats it as a reference to turning against some person, whoever it might be. It wasn't very funny or very effective at the time.
