Police officer kills five in gun attack at Tunisia synagogueAt least five people were killed when a Tunisian police officer went on a shooting spree at Africa’s oldest synagogue during an annual Jewish pilgrimage.
Two visitors including a French citizen, and two police officers, died during the rampage on the island of Djerba on Tuesday, while a third officer died of his injuries on Wednesday.
The gunman was a National Guard member who killed a colleague at a naval installation before opening fire at the El Ghriba synagogue, wounding 10 people and causing panic among the hundreds of visitors to the site.
