Jury-convicted sexual assault offender and multiple felony indicted orange-hued ex-official scheduled to appear on CNN for 2 hours this evening -8pm Eastern.

I'm informed you have to use a pay outlet for this show. Anybody have any methods to see it an pay what it's worth (no charge)?

it's on their website

How can I watch it?

The town hall will stream live without requiring a cable log-in, on CNN.com’s homepage and across mobile devices via CNN’s apps for iOS and Android, on CNN OTT and mobile apps under “TV Channels,” or CNNgo where available. The town hall will also be available On Demand beginning Thursday, May 11, to pay TV subscribers via CNN.com, the CNN OTT app, and Cable Operator Platforms.

Is CNN's Chris Licht in trouble already? New boss will be 'out by Labor Day', say network insiders - as staff claim he 'hates his job, can't do it and doesn't have his ear to the ground'
Licht took over at CNN in May last year and vowed to correct its hard-left bias
His bets are yet to pay off, with ratings on some of the major shows slipping
Licht was also slammed for not firing Don Lemon over sexist remarks

24/7 cable TV isn't and probably never has been or ever will be journalism. What cable has done well is instantaneous coverage of breaking events. The filler used between between events is where they have always got it wrong. Events hooked the audience and to keep that ad revenue they prostitute themselves.

The CNN inquisitor? comes to this from a right wing cable background so expecting any sort of push back is like whistling past the graveyard.

A lot of people who tuned in have TVs with the Faux News logo burned into the lower corner. This two hour program probably helped them out. Doubtless many viewers were surprised they could receive something other than Faux on a TV.

Shortly after the town hall ended, President Biden weighed in on Twitter with something of a campaign tag line: “It’s simple, folks. Do you want four more years of that?”

...and yet current polling suggests that if the vote for president were today Trump would have a very real chance of beating Biden. It's so disheartening that so many people don't see Trump for what he is - or worse see it and don't care.

Why do this in front of a Trump friendly crowd instead of a group that reflects his true popularity in the country? I would guess that was a condition of his participation.

To crown him now as the de facto 2024 GOP candidate, before a single primary vote is cast, is bad enough.

So the audience reportedly giggled, applauded and approved of his vile racist and sexist comments and his lies about Jan 6 and the 2020 election. Not to mention Biden's record.

That was an ugly excuse for political reporting, even with push back from the moderator and other panelists.

CNN's current agenda is attracting right-wing viewers. Integrity is not a priority.

They're calling it "centrist."

Also, I found Amy Klobuchar's recent remarks to be particularly cogent: [twitter.com]

... she has also commented to make the case for Biden, pretty much the same thing Biden himself said ... do we really want another four years of chaos?

Yes I'd heard about that, did not expect them to stoop quite this low.

I think in this climate, where there are shrinking eyeballs fixated on a television screen, they're going to do some crazy things to survive

I "get" what they're trying to accomplish, but I shake my head at media convergence. The requirement that investments reap immediate dividends.

It saddens me to no end that internet has basically destroyed the 4th estate. I remember when going to J-School was akin to going to Law school and Medical school. It was like a special calling. Every city had morning papers, afternoon late editions, evening papers. Tabloids. Magazines. You name it.

The Balkanization of news media. All of us pledging loyalty to certain outlets that confirm our "values," biases etc., is 100 times more hyper than it was before. It helps to keep us divided.

I just stopped watching any of it. They're becoming less good at it. CNN started it all with Crossfire. Now I have to see the same thing at halftime of games. Guys gossiping and arguing about sports. Unscripted TV shows with people ripping each other apart.

No thank you to any of it. This country has to come together.

Well said v. I have also quit watching cable news, used to watch MSNBC often. Read online what seems credible, watch sports and Netflix otherwise.

I miss a decent newspaper. The NY Times is kind of a joke now. WaPo was trashed before that. PBS NewsHour and NPR are still good.

There are 2 good regional newspapers left in my entire state. One excellent young investigative reporter I know just quit at age 31, after winning reporter of the year, because the pay is so low and the hours terrible. You can go be "VP of Comms" someplace and double your salary.

Sad state of affairs.

It is a sad state of affairs. One of my best friends who hired me to work as the Art Director of the magazine she edited when I lived in Atlanta works for the CDC now. a product of UGA's lauded J-School. Home of the Peabody Awards. She worked for Whittle Communications for years.

Working at the CDC wasn't her dream. Though she doesn't totally hate it.

I've been reading the Times for almost 30 years. The quality of it's coverage is consistently excellent, though they occasionally make a misstep. The past few years I have been reading the WaPo. It also has very good, indepth coverage of a range of topics, though with less bells and whistles.

Outside of some crucial and key political takes, usually via one or another columnist trying to both-sides issues, yeah, The NY Times is superb. Nothing covers the Arts as well as they do for example. It's a richly detailed and broad publication.

I have also been reading the Times at least that long and the change is dramatic, and for the worse.

The political coverage at the Times now is horrible. This is not terribly new, goes back to Iraq War build-up.

The political commentary they publish on a regular basis now would have in the old days not made it into Readers Digest.
