We're about to have a badass thunderstorm in upstate South Carolina.

If you meant Georgia indictments of Trump and his buddies, most likely Friday.

Think he was talking about Trump's post from last week saying "If you come after me, I'll come after you". The DOJ took exception to this with the DC Judge and she gave Trump's side until 5pm today to respond.

They of course said it was only meant for his GOP primary challengers, but we all know better.

Yes this what I was talking about.

If he continues like this, he may end up in detention before the trial.

We're about to have a badass thunderstorm in upstate South Carolina.

In the midst of the storm, with lightning and thunderclaps occurring simultaneously directly overhead, I got an anxious text from my wife pleading with me to bring the potted plants inside. Oh what fun.

I did the same. Also brought in my new kitten Lucky. He's chilling on the couch but dog is freaked over thunder and kitten.
Fun times.

Trump's attorneys just issued their response and it is pure comedy .
Among other absurdities they claim that President Biden has trolled Trump on Twitter, so that makes it OK for Trump to do what he did.
They meant this:

[twitter.com]

I love them pretending that naked fund raising is in fact a veiled attempt to troll Trump.

Donald Trump’s legal team on Monday urged the judge overseeing the election conspiracy case against the former president to reject prosecutors’ proposed protective order concerning evidence in the case, describing it as overly broad.

Lawyers for the early 2024 Republican presidential primary front-runner said the judge should impose a more limited protective order that would prevent the defense team from publicly disclosing only materials deemed “sensitive," such as grand jury witness testimony.

"In a trial about First Amendment rights, the government seeks to restrict First Amendment rights. Worse, it does so against its administration’s primary political opponent, during an election season in which the administration, prominent party members, and media allies have campaigned on the indictment and proliferated its false allegations," Trump's lawyers wrote.

"Those who cannot accept the past are condemned to revise it." -- Geo. Mathias

The core problem with Trump's claim, according to Andrew Weissman:

"Trump claims his threat abt going after enemies is protected political speech, even though made while he's out on bail in 3 criminal cases. That speech can be restricted in the same way Roger Stone's posting crosshairs next to a judge's head can be. Bail=restrictions!"

If this were a normal defendant , they would be in jail already. Sick of this guy's privilege.

Amen.

And after all that squealing about how Hunter Biden, who got a relatively typical if flawed plea deal, had been preferential treatment.

If his long necktie first got caught and then pulled him in it would just be a "freak accident".

Bill Clinton is visiting a school. In one class, he asks the students if anyone can give him an example of a "tragedy."

One little boy stands up and offers, "If my best friend who lives next door was playing in the street when a car came along and killed him, that would be a tragedy."

"No," Clinton says, "That would be an ACCIDENT."

A girl raises her hand. "If a school bus carrying fifty children drove off a cliff, killing everyone involved... that would be a tragedy."

"I'm afraid not," explains Clinton. "That is what we would call a GREAT LOSS."

The room is silent; none of the other children volunteer.

"What?" asks Clinton, "Isn't there any one here who can give me an example of a tragedy?"

Finally, a boy in the back raises his hand. In a timid voice, he says: "If an airplane carrying Bill & Hillary Clinton were blown up by a bomb, THAT would be a tragedy."

"Wonderful!" Clinton beams. "Marvelous! And can you tell me WHY that would be a tragedy?"

"Well," says the boy, "because it wouldn't be an accident, and it certainly would not be a great loss!"
