Says Mr. Brooks, conservative columnist for the NYT:
Wow. Burger and fries cost $78 at EWR?
Ehhh….no. Seventeen. A little pricy, but it’s at the airport at a sit down place (and it looks like a decent burger/BBQ).
Now, can you see anything else in the picture above which might have…uh…filled out this bill a little?

Misssed pdqs hidden part.
Americans that don't have money cant fly, so no idea what airport food prices are.
Even my kids know that the airport, movie theater, theme park, tourist trap = $$$ for food.

Yeah he is a jerk, but I thought he was riffing on NYT Pitch Bot posts. One of his running jokes goes something like "...people are saying Joe Biden is the reason a slice of vegan tiramisu costs $15."
Anyway, that is probably a double shot of Bulliet or Makers in the glass, which can easily run 35 or 40 bucks in an airport bar. So after tax and tip, I can easily believe he spent $78.
Satirizing Pitch Bot seems like a pointless endeavor to me. But it's Brooks, so maybe he thought he was funny.

Brooks has apologized. (Which puts him in the camp opposite Trump, unless Trump manages to win the R nom, in which case he'll vote for him anyway).
