Interesting interview with Cassidy Hutchinson

... to me, some of the interesting tidbits:

- that she almost didn't testify, right to the end

- that she took inspiration from Alexander Butterfield

- that she's still a Republican, but made it clear in no uncertain terms that she won't vote for her ex-boss

I have lost all respect for those people who worked for the Trump admin, found themselves AFTERWARD and now make a living on liberal media. I hope she doesn't become one of those.

Ditto….they haven’t changed and are merely opportunists.

I honestly think she is a Patriot and a hero (gender-neutral).

She spoke up when many with far more power did not.

Exactly.

I think it's easy to dismiss anyone who worked for Dump and then later realized what a mess he is/was, but... hindsight is 20/20 and it's easy to backseat drive.

Also, it's worth remembering that she was only 23 when she started, and you don't always make the best decisions at that age.

I guess another question you have to ask yourself is: if you have a friend, a relative, someone you know, who is a diehard MAGA, voted for the jerk, contributed heavily to his campaign, etc., etc., and then sometime later realizes what a huge mistake they've made, do you cut them slack?

Agree. She spoke up long before Trump was indicted. Most of the "adults"who were at the WH on Jan. 6 refused to cooperate with the Jan. 6 Committee.

I think given her young age and the fact this was her first job out of college, she is particularly courageous. Not everyone working administrative jobs in the White House is an ideologue, and I don't get those vibes from her.

Assistant to WH COS is a golden ticket on your resume, regardless of party.

Another bit from her book about Mark Meadows burning documents:

yahoo!news

White House chief-of-staff Mark Meadows was burning so many documents at the end of the Trump presidency that his wife complained about the dry-cleaning bill caused by the “bonfire” smell from his clothes, according to a former aide.

Cassidy Hutchinson, whose memoir on her time in the Trump administration comes out this week, told The New York Times, that staff were using so-called “burn bags” to dispose of unneeded documents and other “litter” that had accumulated as part of White House business.

But according to Ms Hutchinson, Mr Meadows feared that burn bags could be intercepted by his enemies before they were destroyed so opted to toss documents into a fireplace.

I'm gonna leave a House Seat that I was lucky to get in the first place - gerrymandered, me and the wife lying about my college degree, illegally voting, amongst other thing - and go work for the suddenly ascendent boxing promoter Don King. What can go wrong? Only in America.
