Amazon’s Alexa, the popular voice assistant, says the 2020 race was stolen, even as parent company Amazon promotes the tool as a reliable election news source — foreshadowing a new information battleground.

Sabotaged by right wing site Rumble.

Sabotaged by right wing site Rumble.

And sabotaged by an "Alexa Answers" contributor.

They've fixed it quickly. I tried several prompts and consistently got "Sorry, I don't have an answer for that."

Probably a harbinger of what to expect as AI is applied to political life.

It's the next evolution of the social media phenomenon.

soon you won't have to have anyone come up with outrageous conspiracy theories ... The AI will do it for them and make those theories sound bulletproof in the process.

Yep, every time I listen to talk radio I hear how it was stolen.

Yes, the only way P45* have lost is the Biden Crime Family corrupting the election process.

It's well documented that P45* actually won by a landslide.

I'm sure he's got a piece of paper in is pocket with all the evidence, perfect evidence, the most beautiful perfect evidence that will bust this wide open.

I had to bookmark this one at Politico, dated 06/15/2020:

‘We’re thinking landslide’: Beyond D.C., GOP officials see Trump on glide path to reelection

By most conventional indicators, Donald Trump is in danger of becoming a one-term president. The economy is a wreck, the coronavirus persists, and his poll numbers have deteriorated.

But throughout the Republican Party’s vast organization in the states, the operational approach to Trump’s re-election campaign is hardening around a fundamentally different view.

… “The more bad things happen in the country, it just solidifies support for Trump,” said Phillip Stephens, GOP chairman in Robeson County, N.C., one of several rural counties in that swing state that shifted from supporting Barack Obama in 2012 to Trump in 2016… Nothing’s going to stick, because if anything, it’s getting more exciting than it was in 2016.”

This year, Stephens said, “We’re thinking landslide.

Doubling down in La-La land.

It's sort of a repeat of Cambridge Analytica using hidden groups at Fecesbook, but many of the same actors have split up to focus independently to hijack dozens of vectors using AI enhancements.

Part of it is trying to leverage engagement with hate. If I create a New User and pull up a the root Youtube page, I will fairly quickly see competing tropes from FAUX and M$NB C once I start clicking on current events or politics related videos. It's the same with any online engagement portal that is using AI algorithms, especially anything with non-EU or non-US owners: TikTok,Telegram, Instagram, Reddit, Imgur, KakaoTalk, etc.

I think that, at the moment, AI should not be applied toward anything where factual/accurate information is important. Of course, it will be, but it shouldn't (yet?).
