Just as using their Gazan subjects as human shields is 'necessary'.
(Sorry, we're in our tunnels)

Hamas says 7 October attacks were a 'necessary step'
cited in [www.theguardian.com]
Hamas has reportedly said its 7 October attacks on Israel were a “necessary step” to “confront all Israeli conspiracies against the Palestinian people”.

According to AFP, the group said in a 16-page report on the attacks that “some faults happened … due to the rapid collapse of the Israeli security and military system, and the chaos caused along the border areas with Gaza”.

But the militant group was quoted as saying the attacks were “a necessary step and a normal response to confront all Israeli conspiracies against the Palestinian people”.

The document was Hamas’ first public report released in English and Arabic justifying the attacks, in which about 1,200 people were killed.

Hamas seized about 250 hostages during the attack. Israel says about 132 remain in Gaza, of whom at least 27 are believed to have been killed, according to an AFP tally based on Israeli figures.

In a statement, Hamas urged “the immediate halt of the Israeli aggression on Gaza, the crimes and ethnic cleansing committed against the entire Gaza population”.

“We stress that the Palestinian people have the capacity to decide their future and to arrange their internal affairs,” the statement said, adding that “no party in the world” had the right to decide on their behalf.

shooting thousands of rockets at Israel's towns and cities are also 'necessary'. Hezbollah and Houthis say the same.

The European Parliament called last week for a “permanent cease-fire” in Gaza, upon the condition that Hamas releases the hostages it took in the October attacks as well as the full demilitarization of Gaza.

then I also assume that using civilians as human shields is a necessary tactic for the greater glory of Islam?

return the hostages and surrender...it's over, fanatics. Piles of corpses are 'martyrs for the good of the cause?'

Yeah, they do have problems with accuracy.

"Our monitoring suggests that the numbers provided by the Ministry of Health may be under-reporting as they do not include fatalities who did not reach hospitals or may be lost under the rubble," the U.N. human rights office spokesperson said.

"It is a logical assumption that the numbers being reported are underestimated, are low," said Nathaniel Raymond, Executive Director of the Humanitarian Research Lab at the Yale School of Public Health, who has worked on death counts in armed conflict and natural disasters for more than 20 years...

btw- you have to go to the 24th paragraph in this Reuters story [www.reuters.com] before they tell you about Hamas' "necessary step" statements.

So using human shields on a huge scale is okay if it serves 'The Cause'?

They didn't provide a terror organization with the attention-grabbing headline they were going for, and you're complaining about that?

With all respect, it is delusional to conclude that from what he said.

Again, what Hamas did was montrous. 25,000 deaths in response is also monstrous.

Hell no!

Hamas must be destroyed.

But the civilian death toll to get there seems so high…

Hamas has been using human shields as a tactic ever since they started to fire rockets into Israel in the 90's.

This is not an accident. This is a conscious policy by a terrorist group.

When are you going to catch on? They don't care except to use corpses as propaganda gambits.

Steve G has never voiced any concern for the slaughtered Palestinian innocents. Like many, he sweeps them under the rug. That speaks more about his veracity than any of the propaganda under which he takes refuge.

This, and the current Netanyahu government will never accept a two state solution.

You know that is a flat out lie.

What do you want us to do? Lay down all our arms and commit suicide? Will that make you happy? It would certainly solve the "Jewish Problem" for everyone.

Yeah, I don't get it. He shows concern in the post right before this. And I think you're on to something as far as what does it mean to show concern. Often I think people want to see a healthy dose of self-loathing. Problem is, it's easy and it doesn't do anything to help.
