Haley chooses party over country

…and self-respect.

Quote

Haley said Trump “has not been perfect” on policies important to her, including foreign policy, immigration and the economy, but President Joe Biden “has been a catastrophe.”

Indeed. How much more of this disastrous Biden world-leading economic prosperity can we endure? How long must we continue to thwart Vlad’s ambitions? How many more years without American military deaths can we live with?

Quote

So I will be voting for Trump

Of course you will. Even though he called to permanently expel your donors from the “MAGA camp”. Even though he insulted your “missing” husband (who was “missing” because he was serving in the US military). Even though you called him (accurately) “unstable and unhinged“ and said he was not qualified to serve as president.

See, the thing is that most Republicans would vote for the devil himself if he had an R by his name (and consider him “Godly” to boot).

Trump has already said she will not be his VP pick.

She’s much like Ted Cruz:

I really wonder what country all these GOPers are living in.

It can't be this one where the economy is doing wonderfully and we are gaining back all the respect we lost under Trump.

Just Feb 2024:
'Haley: Many of the same politicians publicly embrace Trump, privately dread him. They know what a disaster he's been and will continue to be. They are just too afraid to say it out loud. I'm not afraid to say the hard truth out loud. I feel no need to kiss the ring.'

Again, he's already said - recently - he won't.

Also, Trump never forgives.

A small sliver of GOP voters who don't like Trump and were leaning Biden may view this as a permission slip to vote for Trump.

And that could be enough to tip the scales to him.

Haley would view that outcome as evidence of her power and influence in the party. She knows her career is over as a Republican politician if she helps Biden.

I think it's over anyway, even though she's very good at fundraising.

Well, if she does get VP, and Trump infarcts, she's the furthest thing from Trump the party has to offer right now. Which is not much, but it's not nothing.

The real question is why she's coming out with this endorsement now, as opposed to weeks ago or from now. Was there something that happened that could be politically advantageous for her?

Even so, politically she is repugnant.

Of course it was calculated. Why, I don’t know.

Her keeping mum was helping Biden. Because she was assumed to be anti -Trump based on her campaign rhetoric.

This move shows that she still thinks that she can win it assuming that Trump drops dead in the next few weeks. By backing trump now, she would win the repub vote in the general and would steal enough anti-biden votes to take the trophy. This is not a harebrained possibility... all she needs is to have Trump removed from the race.

Trump will certainly not be around in 2028 - Haley would be the one to beat.

It’s all and only about 2028. 2028 was the only reason she ran this year.

I was thinking this was her calculation. Backup if His Orangeness gets called home by His Maker, and sets the stage for 2028. His Emperor-wannabe has stated he will not run in 2028. That doesn't mean he will leave the White House, mind you!

I give you a 1/4 on your scorecard (the border).

As for the Middle East - you do realize that the 'success' of the Abraham Accords - something often touted as 45's top accomplishment - is likely what triggered the attack? Hamas was afraid more countries would normalize relations with Israel. And that had 45 'won' a second term, Hamas would have been motivated to attack sooner as those Accords were moving along briskly?

Sorry to burst your bubble. But you tend to 'hit and run' here.

I DO find the 'inflation' argument frankly absurd. But if you tell a lie enough times, some will believe it.

And Putin - HAHAHAHAHAHA. 45 is STILL a Putin-puppet. The best thing that could happen for the entire country would be for the Big Grift that is Truth Social would let 45 pay off all his financial debt to international players. But I fear it's those same groups that are propping up this clearly meme stock.
