Constitution 2.0

If you could write a Constitution 2.0 that would take all the good parts from 1.0 and close some of the loopholes and ambiguities in 1.0, and add a few new things, what would you put on your list? here is mine; in random order, definitely an incomplete list:

No One is Above the Law

Popular Vote

No discrimination of any kind; minorities, LGBTQ, gender, etc; equal pay for equal work, regardless of if you are a female, a person of color, etc.

Abortion guaranteed by Constitution

Mandatory background checks; No bump stocks, no high-capacity magazines

Term and age limits on most public office, including Supreme Court, Congress and President

Universal Healthcare

Guaranteed budgets for National Defense and Education

Tax release for any kind of public office, even if under Audit

No public office for convicted felons

Insider trading - removed from office and all profits taken. never allowed to use the stock market or other financial investments except checking and savings accounts. Can never sit on a the board of a publicly traded company or be a senior executive/C - suite member.f

2nd violent felony - locked up for life.

Framing/withholding evidence or knowingly wrongfully accusing someone - sentence equals maximum sentence accused would have faced with no eligibility for parole.

Reconsider whether synthetic persons (i.e., corporations) have ANY right to exist. Given that most crimes against humanity and/or the environment are perpetrated by corporations that face only fines (increased overhead costs of doing business) while the humans in charge (boards of directors, senior officers, managers) walk free to be bad again, there is a serious lack of accountability in global corporate behavior. Remove the corporate veil that shields officers and directors.

...and other "communistic" issues...

This is a fantasy so out of reach that I can't play the game. Even if it did happen, it wouldn't get ratified. I love to daydream, but this is a fairy bridge too far for me.

Change the Federal Representative/Senate framework, as I've indicated here in the past; double everything for States with population over 1 million (so 4 senators, and 2x the number of reps the had before, but the new reps are statewide which curbs gerrymandering somewhat.) States with less than 1 million population get only double the representatives, again, statewide and while they already only have one, all districts will remain statewide there will be no regional reps.

Add a 4th branch - a virtual "People's Chamber" wherein direct democracy is allowed to function as an additional check on the Executive, the Congress, and the Judiciary branches - e.g. current framework makes it impossible to get new amendments passed even when in dire need.

Eliminate first past the post / winner takes all elections and institute ranked choice voting (has its own problems I know, but we're working towards a more perfect union not perfection. Perfection is death!

I had another idea but forgot it...
Maybe something about return of the right to a speedy trial - no breaking the law then slowing things down for months/years to escape punishment and reap financial gain until you can outspend your victims to win "justice."

The current system tilts too much in favor of the defendant and having to prove their state of mind for intentionally committing a crime.

Sunset all the obsolete weird laws like "no peanut sales after sundown on Wednesdays"
