Significant swing from 2020. Poll: 36% of Repubs who backed Haley will vote for Harris

45% for Trump.

Per a new poll from Blueprint.

Doing some fast math, that could be 7-8% of Republican voters in a number of states. It could matter since we're looking at such thin margins between Kamala and Donald.

From the article:
"Trump’s level of support from Haley voters in the poll represents a significant drop in support for Trump, who won those same voters against Joe Biden by 59-28 percent. That 22 percentage point change in preference (from plus 31 percent for Trump in 2020 to plus 9 percent in this survey) could represent a swing of millions of votes."

If Trump wins Harris or any Democrat would have a much better chance of defeating any Republican nominee in four years.

Does this mean that if Republicans had nominated Haley instead of Trump they would coasted into the White House?

Didn't you hear? There won't be nominees in four years.

While I do appreciate Ro Hanna's notion that acting like Trump attaining the Presidency again and all the disasters that would result put too little faith in Americans to solve problems and get things done, it would be better for literally everyone except a handful of billionaires and their cronies if the Oval Office remains beyond his grasp.

And if these numbers are true, then HOW does the polling still suggest a nearly split race in the most sizeable swing states (PA, MI, GA, NC)? Or is a convicted felon con man would be autocrat narcissist really bringing that many new clueless voters to the booth?

eh, I'm more skeptical. I'm sure some number of Trump supporters would fail to show up for another Republican.

Interesting question, we'll never know. That was the match-up many pundits dreamed of, two women of color. Each with Indian background.

Could be the 2028 race.

Polls close in North Carolina a half hour before Pennsylvania. I wonder if exit polling there might give us an early glimpse of any possible Republican Haley voter movement toward Harris.
