You wish. Netanyahu will not stop as long as there is anyone left in Gaza.

I saw a story the other day (sorry, can’t remember where) where Sinwar said he was very pessimistic about ever escaping assassination by Israel as thus less likely to negotiate.

Netanyahu says that anyone holding hostages will be allowed to live if they lay down their weapons and release their captives.

Why didn't he say this in the evening of Oct 7, 2023? Maybe more lives could have been saved.

US president Joe Biden has spoken with Benjamin Netanyahu and congratulated the Israeli prime minister for the death of Hamas leader, Yahya Sinwar, according to Axios.

Both leaders “agreed that there is an opportunity to advance a deal to free the hostages and they will work together to achieve that goal,” according to a statement by Netanyahu’s office.

Iran funds, trains and arms Hamas, helping it to build up its military capabilities and amass an arsenal of thousands of rockets, which it uses to target Israeli towns.

Sinwar expressed his gratitude for the support in a speech in 2021. "Had it not been for Iran, the resistance in Palestine would not have possessed its current capabilities."

So, who is his second in command?

So, who is his second in command?

His brother, apparently.

Killing people one by one, or en masse, is not the answer.

According to the Israeli military, Sinwar had been forced out of the tunnel where he was hiding and into the building as they gradually closed off streets and blew up tunnels in the area.

Israeli troops pushed him to “make this mistake” and “move like a fugitive”, Major Doron Spielman explained earlier on Friday.

“He left the tunnel, went into an apartment building, and [Hamas] opened fire on Israeli troops. A tank returned fire, and he was killed in that attack,” he said

Sinwar's deputy Khalil Al-Hayya, who is viewed as a potential successor, struck a defiant note on Friday, saying Israeli hostages would not be returned until Israeli troops withdrew from Gaza and the war ended.

The people holding hostages on Oct 7 2023 were intoxicated with their "victory." There is no chance anyone would have considered such an offer to have any teeth.

In the present, it's always possible that some have come to have doubts, although there is still reason to fear that the remnants of Hamas will kill them if they release any hostages without "permission."
