This is the guy who advocated for and oversaw family separation in 2017 2018 and who has strongly advocated for "mass deportations."

Betchya we get four years into this, and only a small fraction have been deported. We're at operationally full employment now (4% unemployment) and there's not enough Citizens left to take the jobs these people are filling.

I'd expect the appeal around this to change quite suddenly the first time they shut down a meat packing plant due to an inability to staff after a raid.

Not only customers, also taxpayers to the tune of billions. Local and state coffers take that hit if immigrants leave. I foresee big fed v state battles ahead.

Private prison companies, big donors to Trump, are salivating at the prospect of all these people to detain.

So, no indiscriminate selective enforcement - well that ought to be good enough to allow folks to sleep easily at night.

Theoretically, besides indiscriminately shooting at the undocumented as they try to cross over and indiscriminately rounding them up and deporting those already here - which they'll find out rapidly is a lot like promising that Mexico will pay for a wall - it's going to be tough going.

For every gun lover who thinks they'll be given free reign to start their own posse, there'll be those who are likely to stand up and stand in their way - they'll use their influence and their money. They have lots to lose if their labor pool gets effed up by these clowns.

So the new Czar is going to learn quickly that there are multiple reasons why things are the way they are and just as many more reasons why things have tended to remain the way they are for so long - and he's not going to be able to make the kind of dent in the alleged problem that all these looney Trump lovers will expect from him. And he'll eventually get tossed on the trash heap of history by dumbass Donald like those before him.

But it's going to unfairly scare and negatively affect millions in the meanwhile.
