Woman Forced Into Sex With Son

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (AP) -- Two teenagers have been charged with gang raping a woman and forcing her to have sex with her 12-year-old son, who police say was then beaten and had cleaning solution poured into his eyes.

Avion Lawson, 14, and Nathan Walker, 16, were being held Friday, charged as adults with armed sexual battery by multiple perpetrators, sexual performance by a child, armed home invasion and aggravated battery. Both were arrested this week.

Authorities allege the boys were among a group of about 10 suspects who forced their way into the woman's home the night of June 18. According to the police report, she was raped by all the suspects and forced to have sex with her son, who was later beaten and tortured.

Police did not give a possible motive.

A condom found in the home linked the 14-year-old to the crimes, police said. Investigators also say they found a palm print belonging to the 16-year-old at the scene.

''We would have never anticipated a crime like this from anybody, much less a 14-year-old,'' Police Lt. Chuck Reed said.

Both boys were held without bail, the prosecutor's office said.

A call to Lawson's public defender was not immediately returned Friday. It was not known if Walker has an attorney.

Police said investigators are searching for other suspects.

The lengths kids will go to to have some fun when they can't afford a ticket to DisneyWorld continues to astonish me!...

Yuck.

The local one here is a father or stepfather biting (and/or eating) the ear(s) and upper lip off of a 3 or 4 year old girl.

Yuck.

I read the full story earlier this morning before coming here.

I just really don't understand what pushes people to take the crimes that far. Isn't it enough to just rob someone? I know it sounds weird to say that, but still...

This was a horrible crime and should not go unpunished.

I don't consider 14, 15 or 16 year old adolescents as responsible people - at least not like fully grown adults. The law in many states does and it's exceptions like this that prove the rule and create that sort of law, in fact in some jurisdictions 12 year old children have been tried as adults.

I know I'm in the minority in this thought but to treat anyone whose brain is not fully developed as an adult is simply wrong.

Another thing I wonder about this story is why the release of names of juveniles who, as far I can see, haven't been convicted of anything yet. As despicable as the crime may be, how does that further the cause of justice?

A county that enacts knee-jerk laws because of occasional aberrations or outrages deserves the government it gets. If you don't think that's true, just look around at what we have for government today.

Animals. That's the only way to describe the atrocities some humans will inflict on each other.
In fact it's an insult to animals to use the same description.

It's Florida. They don't believe laws apply to them. Remember the 2000 & 2004 elections? Florida police & media are notorious for releasing names of minors who are suspects or even some of the victims names as well. Glad I left the hellhole.

And we, the most intelligent of all species, euthanize pets simply to make rooms in shelters and kill/main pets to have wall trophies!
