I rather liked it, but I've always liked Bill Moyers, too.

Bill Moyers vs. Wm. F Buckley, Jr would have made the perfect intellectual version of political debate, but there's not enough T&A between them to sell on television.

Buckley is a true genius. I do not think Mr. PBS would hold up very well.

He would and has held up fine. Buckley is a true Conservative, hence he and his ilk have been marginalized by the neo-cons in charge of the Republican party of today. Moyers is not quite the bleeding liberal many assume; sometimes I think his intellectualism (as has happened with Buckley) turns off even those who politically align with him.

Americans just don't like "high brows" in Washington. Look at they ate up the Gipper.

Buckley wrote a true masterpiece "God and Man at Yale" when he was 22 and many subsequent non-fiction and fiction winners. Moyers by himself has yet to write one good book. Moyers does not qualify for the debate. Paul Simon was the last Democrat who I respected.

The conservatives bow down and worship their lords & masters.

They tell them what they want to hear and that they are right and all others are trying to destroy their way of life.

It is very effective and they make lots & lots of the only thing they really care about. Well, they stoke their egos, too. Which is also quite important to them.

They certainly don't care about the sheep on the other end of the mic.

You realize that he's still around, right?

In the unlikely case you're not joking.
