Q: Does the Mormon Church believe that Jesus Christ is the son of God?

A: Mormons believe Jesus Christ is literally the Son of God, the Savior and Redeemer, who died for the sins of humankind and rose from the dead on the third day with an immortal body. God, the Father, also has an immortal body.

Q: Does the Church believe in the divinity of Jesus?

Q: Does the Church believe that God is a physical being?

Q: If so, does the Church believe that God lives on a planet named Kolob?

A: 'Kolob' is a term found in ancient records translated by Joseph Smith. Joseph Smith did not provide a full description or explanation of Kolob nor did he assign the idea particular significance in relation to the Church’s core doctrines.

Q: Where is the planet Kolob? What significance does the planet have to Mormons?

A: 'Kolob' is a term found in ancient records translated by Joseph Smith. Joseph Smith did not provide a full description or explanation of Kolob nor did he assign the idea particular significance in relation to the Church’s core doctrines.

Some of the elements of the two Battlestar Galactica science-fiction television shows seem to be derived from the Mormon beliefs of its creator, Glen A. Larson. In both the original series from 1978, and the 2003 new series, the planet Kobol is the ancient and distant homeworld of the human race,

You just proved yourself American. Might as well be: "What (fill in the blank) has no interest to me."

Oops, except, football, Nascar, shopping, and tv dinners.

I have been curious on my own to find out more about Mormonism. I do not know much
about it and I know there is a lot of misinformation out there.

Yeah, that's a bit of a contradiction.

Did you mean that you have no interest in believing what Mormons believe, but want to know what they believe?

You know, most of this could be true is Smith was either from an alternate universe, or maybe had some sort of accident of time travel/paradox.
Someone should study that.
