Not. That there's anything wrong with that.

A friend taught me to ask what it is that I fear when I'm angry. Homophobes often fear they might be homosexual. The mayor of Spokane was an avid opponent of gay rights... until, of course, he was caught giving city jobs to men he met and dated from gay chat rooms.

Eeeew. Where's that deal on latex gloves when you need it?

I had a girlfriend who tells a story about taking her infant son to a ballgame and feeding him chocolate cookies, which he smeared all over his face. She used a disposable diaper to clean him up and to wrap the uneaten remains. When another friend showed up she opened the diaper, showed it to him, took the uneaten portion and popped it in her mouth.

She thought he was going to hurl.

now THAT made me laugh

Actually the funeral mentioned where Fred's spawn protested was in my town a few weeks ago.

Our state legislator has introduced a House Bill making it illegal to protest within 500 feet of a funeral ... any funeral.

So is this another limitation of free speech ?

OK - now you and Steve Jobs have something to discuss

Yes, but if the protestors are making false, slanderous, and defamatory statements causing emotional suffering I'd think the widow's lawyer might be interested. Further, if such statements are provoking and inciting a riot, e.g. the deceased family crosses the street to contest the false statements, then the civil authorities might also take action.

In the end if freedom of speech is to mean anything then it has to be for even those with whom we vehemently disagree.
